Age-based harassment is a form of discrimination that affects individuals of all ages but is particularly prevalent among older workers. It can take many forms, from verbal or physical abuse to subtle forms of discrimination. Identifying Age-Based Harassment One of the first steps in preventing and responding to age-based harassment is to be able to identify it when it occurs. Some common examples of age-based harassment include derogatory comments or jokes about a person’s age, exclusion from training or development opportunities, and being passed over for promotions or assignments based on age. It’s also important to recognise that age-based harassment can be subtle and may not always be overt.
